My Breakthrough story actually began in August of 2013 when my wife joined the gym.
I was impressed when I saw her commitment to getting up at 4am to go to a gym to work out for an hour.
She came home talking about eating clean, 24 day challenges, meal replacement shakes, and quarterly cleansing.
The cool part was I started seeing changes in her attitude, pounds and inches lost.
I even started to eat some of the meals Michele made and the food was plentiful and very good.
I went to a couple sessions with her and decided it would be something I would enjoy doing.
I have a pretty physical job but I knew it wouldn’t hurt me to lose a few pounds or inches. After all, I was a cookie and chocolate addict.
I knew that was one habit I would have to break but actually it has not been hard at all.
I don’t really miss those treats because I have replaced them with a lot of good snacks and now eat six meals a day.
I was never one to eat breakfast before Breakthrough, but now I realize the importance of starting the day out right with oatmeal and egg whites.
I signed up in December of 2013.
The day I signed up, Chris said, “There is a 24 day challenge starting, you should do it.” So I did, and though it was very tough in the beginning, after a couple weeks it got a lot easier and I was losing weight.
I went from that challenge right into the first TTC Challenge.
That was a really great experience and the weight was dropping to the point where family and friends would say I was skinny or I looked gaunt.
That didn’t bother me, but when I looked at myself in the mirror, I thought I was skinny.
I met with Chris and told him I didn’t want to lose anymore weight, I actually wanted to gain some back.
He changed my nutrition up, and added supplements to try to maintain and gain some muscle.
After about three months I gained 6 pounds back but 3 pounds of that was muscle.
Thank you Chris and Karen for teaching me how to eat properly and for your awesome workouts.
I am proud to be part of the Breakthrough family!
