Dover Personal Trainer introduces new gadget to help clients lose weight.
Hello And Welcome,
In last weeks post Dover Personal Trainers talked about the difficulties most people have keeping track of calories in and calories burned. In fact most people if asked to estimate the amount of calories they take in versus how many calories the burn they would be significantly off the mark. So what’s the answer…
As a fitness professional for over 10 years Chris Gray explains he has found one fundamental key to success that corrects this problem. The answer is tracking! Tracking your calories in Vs calories out by journaling your calorie intake and monitoring your calories burned daily.
The Dover Personal Trainers explain many clients when starting this for the first time were shocked by the numbers reported daily, and were in disbelief by how incorrect their estimates were. So at Punch Kettlebell Gym we have moved to the electronic age of tracking these numbers, and we are now advising our clients to use on line based nutrition tracking and electronic gadgets using Wii technology to track calories burned.
Using a free online website called myplate our clients have been able to track their nutritional intake very quickly and conveniently. In addition with the use of myplate.com our nutrition coach here at Punch can log on and see each clients journal at any time in order to keep them on track. Using this type of tracking method provides much needed accountability and is the answer to keeping a close eye on your calorie intake explains Dover’s fitness expert.
Now to address the calories burned Dover Personal Trainers have introduced a new gadget to the clients at Punch Kettlebell Gym in Dover called the FitBit. This little popular device (known as the FitBit) has just been released to the public! You can find more information about it at www.fitbit.com.
This device uses technology from the Nintendo Wii to track your every move, making a device the size of a pedometer incredibly more valuable.
Pedometers have been in use for a long time. The FitBit took that idea to a whole new level. These types of devices are useful as what I would call an ‘Awareness Tool.’ In other words, when you have it on, and you synchronize your data with the computer, it becomes very clear how much or how little you are actually moving.
Dover Personal Trainers believe using a devise like this allows you to very easily and accurately track calories burned and daily activity like how many steps you have taken today. Tracking steps is an extremely easy way to drop pounds fast! You simply increase the amount of steps you take each week by 500 and hold yourself accountable to that goal each day. Sticking to this pattern over a period of weeks or months will almost guarantee success providing you are addressing all the other key elements to a successful fitness system.
Another great point from Dover Personal Trainers is using a devise like this is if a group of your fellow trainees or campers each had one you could make your journey a little competitive and challenge each other on who takes the most steps each day. As always I encourage your feedback and discussion on this topic.
