Arthur Agatson, M.D. reported this month on MSN.COM that it’s not your total weight but the characteristics of that weight—how much is fat and where it’s deposited—that matter most, not just the number that the scale reads. A recent study at the world renowned Mayo Clinic has revealed proof that what Dover personal trainers at Punch Kettlebell Gym have been saying for years is true.
Dover Personal Trainers explain just because your not significantly overweight does not mean your healthy, and you could be in danger of negative health affects. In other words just because your skinny does not mean your healthy therefor you must prioritize a long term health and fitness program and keep body fat levels to a minimum.
Dover Personal Trainers teach that the key to this is making fitness a lifestyle! Over the last ten years I have seen too many people thinking in terms of short term fitness goals. Everyone is looking for that “Magic Bullet” to get in shape fast and as easy as possible and the truth is there is no magic bullet! The true key to success is adopting a healthy lifestyle with a long term fitness program that you can manage and provides accountability to keep you on track! There simply is no substitute for good old fashioned hard work to get the body you have always wanted and the quality of life you deserve.
After comparing various health markers with the weights and body mass index numbers of thousands of adults, they found that more than half of those with normal weights and BMIs actually had “high body-fat percentages as well as heart and metabolic disturbances.” In other words, they had the same risks of coronary disease, diabetes, and other chronic illness as people who weighed much more.
Dover Personal Trainers say if you have any belly fat at all you are currently at risk! Do your own analysis, starting with these steps:
1. Stop being preoccupied with pounds
2. Measure your body fat frequently
3. Get a blood test and a yearly physical
4. Lose the belly fat with a proven fitness system
5. Regularly track your fat levels (NOT WEIGHT LEVELS)
Being a part of a well rounded fitness program like the one at Punch Kettlebell Gym which includes frequent fat testing will take the emphasis off the scale weight and put the focus on what is truly important…long term health and fitness.

This is the exact reason I decided to join Punch Gym…3 years ago I lost 26 pounds of “baby weight” by eating the right foods and walking 3-5 times per week. After losing the weight, I was satisfied with being a “normal weight” and forgot about the fact that you really can be “skinny fat”. I have told many of my normal weight friends of how good I feel after just 3 weeks of BOOT CAMP.
I would tell anyone that thin isn’t always healthy…
Great point Lori! So many people are in your shoes, thank you for spreading your message!
