Gut Check

This is Your Nutrition Gut Check

You all have heard me say many times that 90% of your results in fitness comes from your nutrition. Even more than that, everything we do in life revolves around your nutrition. How you feel every single day, how much energy you have, how much focus you have are just a few of the key things that are directly affected by your nutrition. Not to mention how many people with gut issues like IBS  struggle everyday of their life. It truly has become an epidemic!

Most Americans have a diet that is high in fat and high in sugar and the bottom line is you are killing yourself if you are on this same path.
First it will be high blood pressure and high cholesterol, then comes diabetes and heart disease, then comes an early death!

The most scary statistic I heard this year was research is now predicting that this will the first generation of children that may not outlive their parents. Scary stuff since I just had a kid myself. I came across a video last week that talks a bit about the havoc that sugar and fat cause in our intestines and I though you should check it out.

Follow this link for a great audio story from NPR that outlines your body’s physiological response to eating the wrong stuff.

It’s not just what you’re eating it’s what ends up in your gut that counts too.  And what happens inside your gut when you eat high fat, high sugar foods is the creation certain types of microbes that make you more prone to obesity.

You see, it’s not just the calories your eating, but the physiological changes they create in your gut that lead you to more problems.

I encourage you to listen to the story and read the article on NPR.  And of course, I encourage you to stay away from all those high fat, high sugar foods.

Chris

I really wanted to take your nutrition class but the $300. was a little too much for me to handle straight behind the $180. for the Boot Camp, but I am reading and I looked at the things you put on your CD so I hope that helps me. See you Tuesday

Good Job Michelle! The important thing is you are making an effort. If you follow the top ten nutrition guidelines I put on that CD and choose foods only from my food list along with cardio at the right times you will get results. Keep up the good work!
